Santa Eulalia Ferry
Brief History of Santa Eulalia Ferry

Towards the end of the 1960s, when the big tourism boom of Ibiza took place, two fishermen named Juan Torres and Miguel started an adventure, which was uncertain in the beginning, by purchasing two small boats to make sea excursions and transport passengers from the town of Santa Eulalia del Rio to beaches in Es Canar and Cala Llonga.

The excursions, which departed from a dock located in front of a small hotel called Ses Roques that would later, at the beginning of the 1980s, become the port of Santa Eulalia, transported few tourists, who would come back each day and every year, creating strong friendships that last to today. The excursions were to Cala Llonga, which was a virgin area back then and didn’t have any hotels, and to Es Canar, that would start hosting, in 1973, the Hippy Market on Wednesdays.

Taking advantage of the increase of tourism and the merge with another company owned by Vicente Guasch, who carried out the same activities with the boats named San Jaume and La María, the company named Cruceros Santa Eulalia was created, increasing excursions and adding trips to Formentera in 1972, to the city of Ibiza in 1985, and the beach of Es Figueral in 1995, also increasing its fleet with the purchase of new boats.

Today, the company now named Santa Eulalia Ferry, is about to celebrate its 50th anniversary, managed by 2nd and 3rd generations. We would like to invite you to enjoy the great experience of the coast and the sea of Ibiza and Formentera.
